Maha K. Al-Ghunaim

Maha K. Al-Ghunaim has built an admirable reputation for herself, one that extends beyond regional business community. Reputable organizations took notice of her savvy business accomplishments, with Forbes magazine ranking her among 2006 “Top 100 Women in the World” then again in 2007 in a higher ranking, and Young Arab Leaders organization appointing her President of the Kuwait Chapter. She also sits on the board of various companies and regional financial organizations.

She was also named as “One of the most influential people in the Middle East” by Newsweek Arabia in 2005. Arabian Business Magazine also chose Mrs. Al-Ghunaim as “Businesswomen of the Year” in November 2005 and IIR Middle East chose “Businesswomen of the Year. ”

Mrs. Al-Ghunaim received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from San Francisco State University, California in 1982 and started her career the same year. In 1998, she founded Global Investment House “Global”. The company is currently listed on several regional stock exchanges, and has assets under management of KD2.35 billion (USD8.4 billion) as at 30 September 2007.
