Jim O'Neill Jim O'Neill is the chief economist of Goldman Sachs and is one of the most highly regarded economists in the world. He has been widely acknowledged as the top foreign-exchange economist, over the last decade, and he has frequently been voted top analyst by surveys such as Extel and Institutional Investor. In his current role as Head of Global Economic Research, Jim oversees all of Goldman’s economic research output. Jim O'Neill created the widely used acronym of BRICs to describe the powerful emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China and is considered one of the foremost experts in the global exchange markets. O'Neill accurately predicted the substantial rise of the euro against the dollar in 2004 and the yen's climb against the dollar back in the 1990s. |
