Dr. Abdallah E. Dabbagh

Dr. Abdallah E. Dabbagh is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ma'aden, the Saudi Arabian Mining Company, a government owned joint stock Company, which was formed in 1997 capitalized at US$ 1.1 billion to develop the Kingdom's mineral resources and related industries. Dr. Dabbagh has a Bachelor in Science in Geology from the American University of Beirut and his Ph.D. in Geology from the University of North Carolina, USA.

He has been a leader in the field of education, research and technological advancement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for over 25 years. His career in Saudi Arabia has been highlighted by his work in the establishment of the Research Institute - a contract research organization at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, by significant achievements in the transfer, application and adoption of modem technology and by his most recent accomplishment - the building of Ma'aden into a successful mining company.

He has served in the boards of various companies, including the Board of Directors of Saudi Aramco, the largest oil company in the word. He has extensive publications on record and he is seen as a leader in the Saudi Arabian business community.

At Ma'aden, Dr. Dabbagh has put together a talented team of professionals who, under his leadership, have put in place the vision, the strategy, and created Ma'aden, a robust mining company of some 600 employees, with over 50% of that number being Saudi nationals who are actively at work in the exploration, operations and management of the company. Ma'aden's four operating mines produce gold, silver, copper and zinc with an investment base of over US$170 million.
