Gulf Research Center

Based in Dubai, UAE, the Gulf Research Center (GRC) is a privately-funded, non-partisan think tank, education provider and consultancy specializing in the Gulf region. Since its establishment in 2000, the GRC has emerged as the pre-eminent research organization concerned with the Gulf region. The driving force behind GRC is the achievement of excellence in four core areas of activity: social science research, education, media and consultancy services.

With “Knowledge for All” as its motto, the GRC is dedicated to pursuing politically neutral and academically sound research about the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries as well as International Relations (IR) related issues. The main activity of the Gulf Research Center is the study of social science in a regional Gulf context. The GRC is concerned about all aspects that impact on the public policy making process including political systems and development, the international relations of the Gulf and the GCC’s foreign relations, defense and security issues, and Gulf economic and business themes in addition to the role of energy and its dimensions both regional and worldwide.

To develop its focus, the Center has identified key areas of critical research in which a significant information deficit exists. In each of these areas, it is the objective of the GRC and its extensive community of contributors to shed light on unexplored issues and relationships that will be of increased importance both for the Gulf region and the rest of the world. The GRC also places particular emphasis on e-education, seeing IT as an effective means of solving information challenges facing the Gulf region.
